Milo.
There’s been a lot of fantastic examples of motion design recently where artists have used abstract shapes to help explain complex topics. At Brew, we’re always intrigued by the way the use of simple shapes can supplement spoken word to increase the impact of key messages.
MiLO is a mock piece of software that can be used to organise projects and streamline production workflows. This type of product lends itself to the use of abstract shapes, due to the topics being relatively difficult to illustrate in a literal manner.

-
Script & Planning
In this phase, we built the foundations for the animation. We wrote a script, before sketching up some ideas for visuals to supplement the narrative.
-
Artwork
It was then time to develop a style. We chose a suitable colour scheme and drew up some style frames based around the idea of abstract shapes.

Storyboard
Storyboarding is crucial stage of any project workflow. It provides me with a roadmap for the animation phase. It’s important to have a clear plan before animating.
